 | MissPackRat4Jesus (38) 12/26/2007 | Troubled orphan Albert Quinn was taken under the Ingalls' wing in the 1978-1979 season when Charles met him in Winoka. Getting into mischief along with Laura, he grew up aspiring to be a doctor. Toward the end of the series, Albert came down with a terminal bleeding disorder, and sadly never got to achieve his dream.
While I know that Albert (along with many of the other characters) did not exist in real life, I still think he was a good addition to the cast. We have to remember that Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote the books, but Michael Landon had to make these stories different and dramatic by adding his own special touch. I don't think that's altogether a bad thing.
