a 3.5. he was okay as Adam the blind man who married Mary Ingalls and helped run a school for the blind. he got his site back in one episode due to a freak accident. mary never actually married in real life. Adam was okay though. the actor Linwood Boomer who played Adam went on to create the show Malcolm In the Middle.

Another character that did not exist in the books (because in reality, Mary Ingalls did not get married). However, I think he was a great character in the program. After Mary went blind and was sent to a blind school, she met Adam who helped her adjust to her disability, himself blind. Shortly afterward, the two married, and helped one another in teaching the blind students. A few years later, he got his sight back, and worked at studying to become a lawyer. Although hesitant at first, Mary supported this decision. Adam tried his first case in Walnut Grove before he and Mary moved away, then the two of them came back to visit in a Christmas episode.
