Also called Sue, she was the star student in Adam and Mary's class at the school for the blind. Out of all the kids at the school, she seemed to have the biggest coverage, as she sometimes had some of the featured roles. One episode, in particular, was about an overweight man named John Bevins who worked at the school for the blind, and his daughter Amelia (who attended school with Laura) was ashamed of him, telling her friends that he wasn't her father. Then Mr. Bevins has an accident and loses the will to go on because he knows Amelia is ashamed. Then Amelia hears Sue read her essay, which is about Mr. Bevins, and how she could see love in him, which moves Amelia to change her attitude. Amelia then tells her dad how sorry she was for being ashamed, he recovers, and the episode ends with the proud father/daughter team walking down the street embracing. All thanks to Susan. Susan was a sweet, compassionate little girl who, when it came to seeing the heart, she was anything but blind.
