He might not have been the brightest monkey Twan, but George just liked to have fun. I have no problems with that. My beef is with the man in the yellow hat. To begin with...what kind of freak wheres nothing but yellow clothing and drives a yellow convertible? However, he was the real idiot. How many times did he leave George by himself with just the simple warning, "Don't get into any trouble." Hey MWTYH...its a friggin monkey. Take some responsibility as an exotic pet owner and stop leaving him around to fend for himself in public.

I was a fan when I was about four or five. Thinking back on it though, he wasn't the brightest monkey out there.

The books are extremely popular, and seem to stand the test of time, so I have to give George four stars. However, he doesn't seem very bright! Additionally, the books are aimed at such a young age group that, as a quasi-adult, I really can't identify too well with the books or the character. I bet a three or four year old would give him a five.
