 | edt4 (99) 03/25/2008 | I disliked the clothes I was required to wear for church under any circumstances. A suit, clip-on tie, dark pants, and shiny black shoes were not clothes I wore voluntarily. Oddly enough, I can vividly remember being outside playing with friends on Good Friday afternoon and having to abort my fun so I could get dressed up for an evening church service, but I don't have any clear memories of going to church on Easter morning, although I'm sure I must have. The Easter basket full of candy helped alleviate my discomfort somewhat, I'm sure.

 | zuchinibut (36) 03/01/2008 | We always had to look good for Church services when I was a child, but Easter was one of those times when we would get more dressed up than usual. A blazer and tie were usually the dress code for my family, and I continue to believe that Easter is an event that a person should look their best.

 | Ventoux1 (12) 04/16/2007 | Not sure which was more uncomfortable, the shoes or the interaction with distant relatives!
(Update - I haven't attended a formal religious ceremony - other than weddings or funerals if those count - since childhood. So, when I say forced - that was as a child. Sorry. I was a little misleading about that in my item submission.)

 | MissPackRat4Jesus (38) 04/07/2007 | It's not because I'm forced. I dress up for church because it's
my choice. I just want to look as nice as I can for the
Lord. But after the service, off the church clothes go, and on
with my grubbies!

 | Bird808 (52) 04/07/2007 | Why would anybody want to inflict this on themselves and furthermore why should they? What's more important dressing up like a dogs dinner in a thousand pound(dollar) suit with a heart of stone or being comfortable with yourself not giving a damn what you wear, but knowing your a good human being?

 | numbah16tdhaha (147) 04/07/2007 | I'd go to church dressed as a Jedi, but I'm sure some thumper would accuse me of blasphemy since George Lucas dressed the Jedi like Jesus on purpose...

 | doobiesNhof (21) 04/07/2007 | I dress up about every day anyway so, this is no big deal to me.

else. You wear what you feel is right for you. I do believe
God looks at the heart.
