Having descended from the 1926 formation of the Atlanta Historical Society, this center was established formally in 1990. Today it rests on 33 acres in Atlanta, and chronicles the history of Atlanta, Georgia, and the Southeast. Featured are historical documents, Civil War artifacts, a research library, two historic houses, and a series of unique gardens.
