ItemImageThis original Atlanta downtown was given a historic status designation in 1968. Though the neighborhood was physically intact, it had undergone a rocky history, and struggled throughout the 1970s to get back on its feet, in an economical sense. In 1989, a $142 million dollar investment renovated Underground Atlanta to its current state. Today it serves as a family destination with shops, restaurants, various events, and unique entertainment.

For the name, it is what it is (under the ground), but it does offer a different look at shopping. The shops, for the most part, are relatively varied, with some of the more common names, but more of the ones that are not (which is very good). Friendly service is what I got from a local vendor, whom took the time needed to serve me his product.

There are a lot of shops, and some places to eat in, and is also close to another attraction - the World of Coca-Cola.

I currently live in atlanta and from a personel opioion --AVOID UNDERGROUND ATLANTA!!! if your looking for girls and other attractions head to the Buckhead area where the ESPN Zone is located near all the good nightlife. Plenty of nice chicks and party zone = buckhead and other various spots. Hoodrats and Ghetto bastards = UNDERGROUND--the name says it all "Underground." I was going to give that place 2 stars buth then after writing this i give it 1 star. I wish i could give it no stars. flat out sux.

Dirty, slummy. Shops are overpriced, parking is nonexistent (unless you pay a great deal, that is). Time for Underground's renaissance!

Don't waste your time. Nothing like the long gone original Underground Atlanta. Just the same stuff any mall has.

Attention visitors to Atlanta! There are lots of good things to do here, but going to Underground Atlanta is not one of them. It's a mall with a few night clubs. If it weren't for tourists, nobody would go there, because the locals nop better. If you're visiting, go to the World of Coke or on the CNN tour, or to Centennial Park, or just hang out in Buckhead or Little 5 Points or Virginia Highlands, but Underground is for people whose only desire is to go home with a little less money.

This is another great place for shopping. So variety of things and not hot at all.
