There's nothing wrong with this at all, especially if the giver took great pains to make it. Some people are extremely talented, and can make some downright unique gifts, working very hard and taking a lot of valuable time to do these things. I would think gestures like this should be appreciated.

Homemade gifts are sweet . . . you've gotta be cold if this one upsets you.

I don't see how someone would take offense or not appreciate someone taking the time to make something for you. As long as it looks like they actually took some time on it and didn't slap it together in 5 minutes; I'd appreciate the gesture and the fact that they cared enough to personalize a gift just for me.
