 | zuchinibut (36) 04/30/2007 | Having the #1 pick usually makes for a good draft. Hopefully for the Raiders, JaMarcus Russell will be a stud. He probably can't be any worse than what the Raiders have thrown out there since Rich Gannon retired. They had a lot of picks, which is important for a team with a 2-14 record. They got rid of Randy Moss, but only got a 4th round pick out of it. Michael Bush could make this draft great if he can come back from a serious leg injury this past year.

 | irishgit (138) 04/30/2007 | I think they did pretty well, all things considered, although they certainly need to make a few more moves.
Picking Russell was a no-brainer, but trading for McCown to buy the kid some breathing time was a good move. Tight end Zach Miller has the potential to have impact, as does sack specialist Quentin Moses.
They failed to address their woeful offensive line, however, and hopefully there will be some further moves here to protect their investment in Russell.
Trading Moss was probably necessary, although I can't help thinking that they gave him away.
