 | oscargamblesfro (75) 04/30/2007 | Burroughs was a big star for a while, and actually won the MVP award in '74 with the Rangers. He had some other good years in '73 with Texas, where he was that team's first star, and in '77 and '78 with The Braves, before fading into a bench guy with the A's and Blue Jays. He wasn't much of a fielder, but he could hit with authority. His son Sean was a big prospect but has been something of a flop with a few teams. Burroughs didn't have a great career, but he had a solid, above average one.
