There were times when it seemed as if Strawberry was a great Cooperstown bound player, he had a lot of natural talent, and when you saw him in his prime with The Mets, he just looked like a natural #1 pick. Very gifted player, for a time one of the best players to watch, but the drugs took that away. He wasn't bad with the Dodgers and Yankees, but so much potential just pissed away...

There was a time when he appeared headed for a first ballot hall of fame career, but he managed to derail that train.
