11/26/2007 | Mauer is a great catcher who can possibly have a HOF type of career for the Twins. Definitely a great draft pick, especially for a high school player.

05/01/2007 | Mauer, a local kid, turned out to be a terrific pick for the Twins. He is already probably the best all around catcher in the American League, and won the batting title last year, the first time a catcher has done that in a long time. Mauer is not a Johnny Bench type of catcher who'll hit 35 or more homers, but he does have some power, is pretty mobile for a catcher, and can field the position really well.

04/30/2007 | Its early yet, but the guy looks like he's coming into his own, and if he continues to play at his current level he will be one of the best #1 picks of all time.
