i live in Michigan. have been in Detroit a few times. the traffic can be good and bad. you do seem to get some more aggresive drivers. What i found scary was the highways that are about within ten miles of Detroit. there are some real crazy drivers that will just about run you off the road if you are not watching out. if someone wants in your lane they just shift over and you damn well better get out of their way.
