Funny movie. Jack Lemmon and Sandy Dennis are good as the couple who come from Ohio to New York for a business meeting. and have nothing but bad luck. One of those road trip stories, where every rotten thing that can go wrong does. I found it funny but ended up feeling just as frustrated as Jack Lemmons character. Lemmon is very good at playing this type of character, the guy next door dealing with the hard knock frustrations of life, I can relate to. stick with the original which is this one.

I call this a good dark comedy with realistic characters anyone can identify with. I truly felt sorry for George and Gwen. It kept me on edge the whole time I watched it.

Hilarious misadventures befall a Midwestern husband (Jack Lemmon) and wife (Sandy Dennis) who visit New York for the first (and last) time. A side-splitter and one of my three favorite comedies, along with Blazing Saddles and Airplane. Lemmon was at his best here as a nervous wretch being driven to the edge of sanity by more calamities in one weekend than any hundred people experience in a lifetime. Garnered Golden Globe nominations for Lemmon and Dennis and a Writer's Guild award for Neil Simon's brilliantly funny script. Don't miss it.
