Buck Rogers/Flash Gordon meets Robin Hood/King Arthur. It turned a little heavier in the second installment when Luke must look deep inside and struggle to in his heart to keep the dark side of the force from triumphing over good. It saddly gets a little too sentimental and trite as they feel the need to rush toward a happy ending. Mark Hamill is just plain bad as Luke and its no surprise that his acting career didn't go any where. Harrison Ford's anti-hero is hampereed by corny, corny dialogue but he is pretty wooden anyway. Carrie Fisher has moments but doesn't throw sparks off the screen like her role was meant to. And unfortunately Billy Dee Williams firmly plants the series in the early 80's with his cheesy Rico Suave schtick.

The OT is worth five stars... and so much more!
