04/17/2008 | Broke the Rule of Two, killed his master before he was ready to assume the mantle, stepped out of the shadows to try to kill the Order openly, and got broke off very badly in the end for his arrogance.

11/07/2007 | Darth Sidious was the greatest of all sith, yes his empire was destroyed but he was the first of the sith to demolish the jedi counsel. His only weakness was having to much faith in Vader, which led to his down fall.

06/17/2007 | I believe Darth Sidious was one of the greatest Sith Lords until he named himself emperor and indulged in all the luxuries he had available to him. He turned his back on the true way. In the end he wasn't a Great Sith Lord but a weak Dark Force user. He should have trained an acceptable apprentice as was the tradition started by Darth Bane. But then we wouldn't have the newly appointed Darth Caedus. Hail the fall of Emperor Palpatine!

06/04/2007 |  He used his apprentices like tools and never intended to pass the torch like the Rule of Two intends. For a short time this killed off the Sith until some writer decided to clone him and say screw The Chosen One,
UPDATE: Chrisrianna, you really need not step into my geeky domain and try to rig this list up too. Palpy is a stooge among Sith and his master was going replace his ass. Palpy killed him in his sleep because Palpy couldn't take him. He misused his resources, got cocky as all hell, broke Bane's Rule of Two by allowing his ranks to be diluted with the likes of Ventress and allowing Dooku to teach saber combat to Grievous, who wasn't even force sensitive, and brought the Sith into the open where they could be destroyed by a rebellion that he should have easily crushed. "Unlimited power" blinded him and he killed the Sith by having a hard-on for destoying the Jedi, a task he ultimately failed in. He also never trained an apprentice that could truly take his place because he was too greedy to heed the will of the force and get out the way when the time came.

06/03/2007 | Darth Sidious is the most powerful, cunning Sith Lord of all-time (As far as I know, I've only seen the movies). He established the first Galactic Empire and ruled it with an iron fist, that's no small feat.

06/03/2007 | As much as I dislike him, I can't deny he wasn't an extremely powerful and successful Sith. If it hadn't been for a bunch of 'meddling kids', he would have been Emperor a hell of a lot longer. He matched Yoda in saber combat and his Force Lightning proficiency was incredible. He failed to secure immortality, despite the many clones he had made.
