He was good but he could have been great. What a waste of true potential! He did great evil for a true mastermind but he made a better Jedi as Anakin Skywalker. He did a great thing for the Force, the galaxy, and the legacy of the Sith by killing Emperor Palpatine. All hail! Darth Vader!

Bear in mind that he was the face of the Empire. People would think of him waaaaaay before they thought of Palpatine at the peak of the Empire.

He killed the first Sith to rule the entire Galaxy and brought temporary balance to the force at the end of his life.

Pawn perhaps, but the greatest pawn you will ever find.

Darth Vader should get five stars, just for being Darth Vader. Who cares if he was a pawn or a henchman, there would be no Star Wars without him. He is the ONLY reason Star Wars is as successful as it is and he is the face of the franchise as well. This is a "power" that no other Sith Lord has and that alone should make him the greatest Sith Lord of them all. When I was a kid and the Star Wars movies came out, everybody just talked about Darth Vader and how powerful he was and I realize that this list includes all of the Star Wars universe (I will admit that I only know the characters in the six movies), but none of the other Sith Lords can match Vader's influence in the "Real World".

A pawn... but a very powerful pawn. As Palpatine's greatest weapon he made the rise of the Empire possible. If he had had the guts to overthrow Sidious a bit earlier he could easily have made a powerful Emperor. He was weakened by his armour, but not so much so he was no longer a formidable opponent.

A kid who couldn't stand not getting his way. Plus he cried a lot and I won't get into the whole "No" scene.
