I notice that nobody objects to the caption title, "plan to end the Iraq war" so I guess I must. It's not about "ending" it . . . it's about winning it. Any strategy which does not include a definition of success is little more than liberal claptrap or uninformed blather resulting from an intellectually lazy analysis (more like a shallow review) of the current situation. It is indicative of the current Congress' approval ratings which make George W. Bush look like Ronald Reagan by comparison.
Most people cannot identify what would constitute a victory, let alone articulate a plan for such. To me, a victory would have to include the apparent defeat of the insurgency/terrorist forces who randomly kill innocent people daily, the emergence of an Iraqi-born leader and an obvious acceptance or acknowledgement of his singular leadership by some objective referendum and some empirical evidence regarding the quality of life of the average Iraqi, such as GDP comparisons, unemployment rates, percentages of people achieving education credentials like high school diplomas, college degrees and certifications associated with various trades (nursing, doctors, tradesmen, military, etc. ) If this is the first time you've thought about any or all of those indications, you have no idea what our men and women in uniform are doing in Iraq today. You're only empirical knowledge of Iraq has to do with the number of American service personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice so that the American press can distort the truth about the reason for their sacrifice. Sad.
