Wise is correct. What I can add is a question: those who believe the Al Gore/ man made global warming theory need to tell us what the mean temperature of earth should be. I have yet to hear this question answered anywhere. They say we are "warming"...warming from what?

You and I produce, per capita, 7.5 tons of carbon dioxide a year. Having seen "An Inconvenient Truth," which made a believer out of me regarding global warming, one of my priorities is to help spread the word about what we can do about it. Here are a few simple things we all can do to reduce CO2 emissions:
* Replace incandescent lightbulbs with compact fluorescent ones. Replacing one lightbulb saves 150 lbs. of CO2 yearly. If every U.S. household replaced five, it would be the equivalent of taking a million cars off the road for a year.
* Check your tire pressure more frequently.
* Turn off electronic devices when you're not using them--your TV, stereo, computer.
* Recycle more.
* Insulate your water heater.
* Get a programmable thermostat, and program it in winter for two degrees lower than you have been doing; program it for two degrees higher in summer.
* When buying a new appliance, make sure it has an Energy Star label.
To see how many pounds of CO2 your household can save each year by doing any of these things, check the Inconvenient Truth website here.

The reason energy and environment are the most important issues is that we are dealing with two Irreversibles. While we will always be cleaning up Washington, we will always be attempting to improve our schools, and we will always be dealing with enemies, we cannot keep consuming fuel or letting the environment be degraded at its current rate without doing harm that we will never be able to reverse. This is absolutely true of oil and gas, which is finite, and relatively true of environmental degradation, which is killing people at an alarming rate.

I've been Car-Free since August 2006, and would urge anyone who can to ditch their vehicles now ...
