This isn't a peeve of mine, but people like that are utterly boring. One of the closest friends I had in politics was another hatchet man like me, who worked for pols on the other side of the aisle.Smart, funny, ascerbic and a good man with a pint or a bottle of singlemalt, we frequently ran into each other during campaigns and usually found time to laugh at the vagaries of the life we had chosen.Like me, he left the game some time ago, and changed careers. Unfortunately, his office was in the World Trade Center and he made the mistake of showing up for work on 9/11.Update: On the other hand, I can find a fair bit of hatred for folks whose political views are based around extermination, genocide and hatred of any group

This is absolutely petty, just to hate a person merely because he/she may have a different take on various issues, be it politics or what-have-you. It shouldn't be all that hard to get along with another person despite differing opinions, and agree to disagree. Part of what makes us all unique are the various opinions we have on things, and it would be a very boring world if we all thought exactly the same.

I think it's pretty sad that people have hatred for anyone just because of a different opinion on politics or anything else.

Some good friends of mine are crazy liberals! UPDATE: Case in point, for our playful banter and all, IJR is somebody I actually do respect (kill me now) and he's left of me for sure and an ahteist. See, you people just gotta find some common ground like watching Wallace and Ladmo or hating the Cardinals! Find something, people!

Sad, divisive, and all too common.
