When the Temptations transitioned from street corner style, innocuous, 'My Girl' style do-wop lightweights...into a hard driving, heavy psychadelic funk 70's legend, (a GREAT move, IMO)...Dennis Coffey and the Funk Brothers were in the studio to provide the juice. Tremendous chops on practically all of the great sounds coming out of Detroit in the 1970's...when things got real with an edge not seen in the 60's. Dennis Coffeys style helped to make the 'blaxploitation' era the absolute greatest in the history of Soul and R&B music. Plus is solo stuff is essential for ANY guitar fan.
