 | callitdowntheline75 (69) 08/20/2008 | Schindler's List's little girl in the red coat in a sea of white, black, and gray might have been the most poignant piece of film editing that has ever been put on the silver screen. Just sheer brilliance by Steven Spielberg to illustrate the incomprehensible tragedy that was done to the Jews and other groups nearly eradicated by the bestial Adolf Hitler and the hate-monger Nazis. Even today, I find it hard to show watch this film, not show it to my classes without a tears in my eyes. And the red-coated little girl? Though only a symbol, it is a symbol that touches upon the duality of human nature (good versus evil).
It is quite haunting.
