 | Molfan (57) 04/14/2008 | I try to avoid ignoring someone. thank goodness for caller ID. sometimes when a certain number comes up I do not pick up, any kind of telemarketer, or 800 numbers that could be anything from sales, charities, or harassing. sometimes if it is a person I know and I just do not want to talk to them this day I may not pick up. some people I have known want to call to take their bad moods out on someone and i get fed up with those calls. Or maybe that person is a chatterbox and I know they will talk and not let you get a word in edgewise. I do try and talk to personal calls as much as possible. just do not always pick up.

 | irishgit (138) 06/27/2007 | Here's the kind of messages I routinely ignore:
Obvious sales pitches,
Whiny messages from my ex, that are not related to our kids,
Chain e-mails,
Cattle-call emails or auto-dialed messages ("you have been selected as a special guest of..."),
Reminder payment calls from my cell provider, credit card, etc.,
And any message from a small but select number of folks I just don't want to talk to.

 | MissPackRat4Jesus (38) 06/26/2007 | Unless one is being a total pest, this is not a good reason to just refuse to answer a message. Sadly, this does happen.

 | Donovan (130) 06/26/2007 | This is a bad reason! You may not want to respond to me for any measure of reasons, but please do not ignore me. Tell me you don't want to discuss this or whatever reasons you can make up. Ignoring someone you consider a friend is... well not very "friendly".
The only time I may not respond to a message is if the sender is a salesperson or I feel I am being harassed. Telling someone you need space and they ignore you is a form of harassment.
