Ok, that's why you missed the call.

Assuming the caller left a voice mail, that's no excuse for not returning it.

On the other hand, if I missed the call, and no message is left, I'm not one of those folks who calls my received calls back to see what they wanted. If they thought the call needed returning, they'd have left a message.
