Moreover, Max Schreck's rat-like, blood-sucking zombie/vampire, Count Orlok, terrorizes every scene he is in as he maniacally walks through corridors and appears out of nowhere on a ship's deck. Schreck's horrifically-wretched Orlok is amongst the most recognizable cultural icons in cinema and a presence like few other characters. Nosferatu, itself, accentuates the creepiness inherent in the early silent films where black, white, and shades of gray make the illusion all the more discomforting. I have a restored version of it in my collection of DVD's, and even today, I get a bit creeped out by how the movie progresses to its conclusion.

Silent and primitive as the film is, it is still a magnificently harrowing work of art.

In this case the living dead guy looks like someone who was born a 10 week old embryo and just kept developing along those lines. Ahewwwww! Either that or he was beamed in from planet Hairless and lost his connection to the mother ship. Yes, I would certainly be freaked out in a major way if this thing squirmed into my room. I'd probably start frantically spraying him with a jumbo can of Raid.
