Palmer, Cuellar, McNally had eight 20 win season between them between 1969 and 1971 and became in 1971 the first team since the 1920 White Sox to have four pitchers win 20 in the same season, when Pat Dobson went 20-8.
A host of other strong pitchers backed this group up and were the foundation of the Earl Weaver managed Orioles "pitching, fundamentals and three run homers" philosophy.

Cuellar and McNally weren't quite at that level, but very, very good. Guys like Wally Bunker, Pat Dobson,Ross Grimsley, Rudy May,Wayne Garland, (for one year) Mike Torrez, ditto)Mike Flanagan, Scott McGregor, Dennis Martinez, and others were all valuable at some point or other, and the organization had an uncanny ability to make stars out of guys who were mediocre or pretty good before and after their time in Baltimore... One of the greatest starting pitching runs in the game's history.
