Maddux and Glavine are first ballot Hall of Famers, and Smoltz hasn't exactly been chopped liver either. They got a 20 win season out of Denny Naigle, and were able to get good years out of veterans like John Burkett and Charley Leibrandt. Steve Avery, a lefty, had phenomenal stuff and several fine years early on though he lost his ability, and by the time he left Atlanta and got to the Red Sox and the other teams he played for afterward, he was all done. A super rotation that reminds me in a way of the depth that the Orioles had in the 60's and 70's, only with even more truly great pitchers.

Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz are all standouts, with six Cy Youngs between them (actually 7, but one of Maddux's is with Chicago)
The supporting cast was generally strong, and a lot of pitchers had one or two decent years here before moving on, or after coming from somewhere else.
