Feller and Wynn are among the top pitchers of all time, and Lemon is not far behind.
They made the Indians a power in the American League for several years, but managed only two pennants and one Series win.
Unfortunately for them, there was this pinstriped bunch in New York who were having a pretty good run themselves.

Feller was incredible, Wynn was a 300 game winner with various teams, and Lemon won 20 games about 7 times or something. There were other guys like Hal Newhouser also was a HOF'er who made his mark with Detroit in the 40's, and was a spot starter with this team, who were quite powerful in this era, winning the Series in '48 and a pennant in '54- the '54 team won 111 games but lost to the Giants in one of the bigger upsets in Series history. Excellent staff.
