Tiant had a windup that looked like the bastard child of Hideo Nomo and Fernando Valenzuela, releasing a bizarrely named arsenal of pitches, with pretty good control.
Until he got injured, Lee was a strong pitcher with a good fastball that set up a range of nasty junk.
The rest of the cast had their moments, and it certainly is not one of the legendary staffs of the game, but it was good.

Tiant was the best pitcher on the team, and although I don't like to play this game much, I can't see how Hunter, who's in the Hall was really any better, they're very comparable. Bill Lee won 17 games three straight years as a lefty in Fenway, no mean feat, and was a riot. Rick Wise had a good career. Reggie Cleveland was ordinary but serviceable, Roger Moret had some decent years, Fergie Jenkins was a HOF'er with the Cubs but merely had a couple of years around .500. Not a great staff, but filled with characters...
