06/29/2007 | It was really Mathewson, and in the early years McGinnty, with a few other guys to pick up a game here and there.
Mathewson alone was probably worth four stars, and he was a strong, untiring pitcher who worked a lot. His performance in the 1905 World Series is one of the legends of the game.

06/29/2007 | They had some other notable pitchers, but the duo of Matthewson, who ranks among the top pitchers ever and Iron Man McGinnity was awesome in its day, one of the best 1-2 punches ever and they won a ton of games in '04 and '05, and not over 7 other teams filled with chumps- over strong teams in Pittsburgh and Chicago.
