Update: Dudley had a decent rookie year but didn't impress too much. He performed well for where he was chosen though. Jason Richardson scored 21 PPG for the Bobcats this season, while Brandan Wright, the draft pick who they traded, did not do much this season.
7/1/2007 - I like that they picked Jared Dudley from BC at 22. He is a smart player who always seems to do things right. He seems to be the type of guy that will transition nicely onto an NBA team, although he will never quite be a star. Trading away their number 8 pick for Jason Richardson seems to be getting a lot of criticism. Apparently the whole problem is the salary issue. While I don't know a lot about that, it seems to me that the Bobcats are a team that should continue stockpiling young players to develop a great team a few years from now. With a #8 pick, they could have attempted to get another guy who may be a stud down the line. However, picking up Jason Richardson isn't a terrible idea in my opinion.
