I recently told someone at walmart that natural life lamaderm was the only good dry food they carried. So they bought some. The stuff isnt perfect. It has fairly low meat content, uses ground grain sorghum, and contains "poultry" fat,but it otherwise is not too bad(naturally preserved, chelated minerals)Certainly better than pedigree and more trustworthy than iams. The venison version is pretty good too,but harder to find. Most of the other formulas, however, contain corn or too little meat protein.By the way,I hope you folks dont take sheltervt`s "propaganda" nonsense too seriously. On the basis of the fact that the ingredients, while somewhat deficient, are still passable,I think lamaderm deserves an "ok" rating. And many allergic dogs do well on lamaderm.

their propaganda talks about how their product is great for dogs with food allergies as it's corn and wheat free... but at the same time, this food is full of sorghum, a corn cousin that is also highly allergenic. Also, they use unspecified bird fat and beet pulp. Not worthwhile.

my 4 chihuahuas loved the taste, but after a few weeks I notice their hair was thinning out all 4 of them!! Within a month they had lost 1/4 of their hair. I put them back on science diet. Their hair has returned and they look healthy again!! Has anyone had this happen to them?

First ingredient is a named meat product. Insufficient meat, fat of unidentified origin, use of controversial filler.
