Things like generators, Leyden Jars, batteries, turbines, etc, that produce electricity are inventions.
That being said, the production and harnessing of electricity produced a tremendous collateral surge in inventions and changes to way of life.

We use electricity for everything. Just one example of something that a lot of people take for granted is food storage. Without electricity, you couldn't just decide to have steak for dinner unless you lived close enough to a butcher shop. Feeling kind of lazy, maybe just fry a hamburger, sorry not going to happen. Or maybe you just want a cold beer, well you can have the beer, but forget about it being cold.
