07/20/2007 | For something that hasn't even existed for a century (the first digital computer was built in the early 1940s, although analog computers had been in use for years), computers have greatly changed the way we live. We really take computers for granted, but computers are used for just about everything these days. Even if you don't use a computer directly at work, unless you work at a very small company, a computer was at least involved in you getting your paycheck. A lot of information is currently only stored in digital form, no hard copies exit. Although the world seemed to get by just fine without them not that many years ago, if all of the world's computers stopped working today, there would be complete chaos.
