Any train is a good train. But the leisurely ramble down the valley, and the good food accompanying the ride, makes for a relaxing getaway.

Everyone and their mother, alright especially their mother, will swear on Napa Valley. It's the most beautiful, romantic, fun place. I must say that my expectations were not met. The closest thing I can compare it to is a farm tour back East, except the farm tour has animals and different equipment you can look at. Here it's only grapes. There are some different samples of cheeses, and one place in particular (V. Satturi) gives you free wine tasting. That's the one I'd recommend because most others charge a small fee of $10, but why pay when you can get for free. The other bummer besides the monatony/boredom factor is that they all close at 5pm. This I can totally understand - the last thing a town wants is for everyone to drink all day and night and be trashed and drive home. But you don't want to end the day at 5, and I'd bet you'd be even more upset when it stays nice and sunny until 9 and you want to hang out and enjoy a pretty afternoon in Napa Valley. I will close with this - check it out because if you visit the Bay Area, everyone will ask you if you checked out Napa Valley. I'm not sure if these people have ever been themselves because unless they have a libarian sense of an entertainment factor, they will realize that it's not exciting enough to ask about. But don't set aside more than an afternoon.

The food is good, but the train is slower than molassess in January. The scenery is basically grapevine after grapevine so it gets a bit boring. Rather have dinner in a stationary restaurant personally!

I love the wine train. The food is good and the people running it are very nice. Iti s a gift I give often to others.
