The drive down to the beach is great, too.

Beautiful, but not worth the drive.

A majestic piece of earth and sea. There are lots of different aspects of nature to take in here from the woods to the coastline to the beaches and the history. I recommend a walk to the peninsula where you pass herds of tule elk; it's just not something you're going to see practically anywhere else. Good whale watching at the right time of year. Some of the best beaches in the area and lots of other hiking trails through wilderness area that is truly maintained as wilderness. I find it magical.

Yeah to Point Reyes for maintaining ecological boundaries! The preservation represented here is incredible, with their ability to maintain the ground, as well as making it a great place for all. I especially like the tide pools, climbing in and on rocks, hiking and simply communing with nature.

A lovely place with lots of wild life to see. Lots of different kinds of plants to see. Lots of different birds, trails, excellent for horseback riding.

I've heard stories from a Park Service employee that if you go during the right time of year, you can watch the great white sharks come in off their migratory path and take down 2000 pound sea lions. A little graphic perhaps, but something that many of us would probably like to see.

On a nice day, Point Reyes is amazing. On a cloudy day, it's a nightmare. Last time I was there it was cloudy and I couldn't even see the light house. And I have yet to spot a whale.
