11/05/2007 | Very sad, he was from here in San Antonio and the local media has written about this, and how people are trying to help his widow and children. I remeber mike from high School sports here in San Antonio, and he was a great athlete.

07/24/2007 | Mike Coolbaugh was a career minor leaguer who got a short stay in the majors before accepting a job as a coach with the Drillers.
Standing in the first base coaching box, he was struck in the head by a line drive foul ball and pronounce dead on arrival at hospital.
Not earthshaking, but deaths on the diamond are extremely rare, and therefore have some significance.
