Sausalito makes for a great day trip from SF! The views from Sausalito of the city are breathtaking. There's a cute little downtown area with shopping and restaurants. Seems a bit pricey but then again it is in North Bay which is a wealthy area.

Good place to go for lunch

Sausalito was once a really great little town full of art, music and interesting characters. Too bad you missed it.

A fun place to get away from the Big City and relax in a more Bohemian culture.

I lived in sausalito from 1966 through 1969. Today it seems to have lost some of it's original excitement. It was better before it became so civilized. A houseboat that i helped build for around two thousand dollars in 1967 just sold for 1.9 MILLION dollars. Anyway it's still a great town to visit.

A bunch of over-priced shops run by greedy ex-hippies

Not a tremendous amount to do, but worth a side trip. You can either take a ferry over or just stop off on your drive up to Napa (it's right over the Golden Gate Bridge). You won't need more than a couple of hours to walk around the town and see the shops and great views.

It's usually sunny. It has a lot of unique shopping stores and the quality of the products there are good and nice, but some are expensive. It's a nice place to go for a picnic and a stroll along the shore front.

The town is so simple by the water, it's so calm and peaceful. I just love its simplicity.

A cutesy little town with shops and nice views. If that's what you want, go for it. Otherwise the place is dull. If you're going to go there from San Francisco, take the ferry over. You get some great views of the city, and it's nice to be out on the water. Wait - better yet, bike there over the Golden Gate bridge one weekend when the weather is nice and stop to have lunch at a restaurant down by the water.

This is a very cool place. It is nice, quiet, and relaxing. There are cool shops to visit and nice places to eat. It would be a cool place to live.

Sausalito is uppity, lovely, peaceful and friendly. The only thing that is a drawback is that it is expensive.

A pleasant town. Quiet and beautiful. I love to look around the little shops. I feel comfortable there.. it's just feel very homie..

This really is a pretty little town. Unfortunately, not many people even KNOW people who could afford to live there.

Spend your day exploring the area and hills surrounding Sausalito. There is a ton of hiking, biking, climbing and camping close by. Then cruise into town and catch a fantastic meal at anyone of the great places with water views.
