As a fan, I'm actually quite pleased when I get to the arena and learn that Violet is one of the refs officiating the game. She calls a very close game by the book. It's a little too close in some cases, but what's most important is she calls it both ways. It's clear that one team does not have an edge over the other when she is officiating because she will call the same fouls on either team and any players on those teams. The "superstars" don't even benefit with her. As a fan of a small market team that hasn't been successful (Charlotte Bobcats), there is often a tendency to blame the bad breaks and close losses on the officials, rather than the players, coaches, poor execution, etc. I'm never inclined to do that with Violet, but I can't say that for some of her colleagues.

Better than about 1/2 of the NBA officials

I think if there were more woman in the game it would be a more respectable and fair league. Violet shows fairness and confidence when she's out there working hard. And the players respect her as a woman and an official obviously being rated so highly amongst the tenured officials. So truly it doesn't matter how long you've been in the game, its how productive and fair you are toward the people you officiate and th ework you do as an individual and team.

Violet is travel happy. She appears to call more travelling violations than anyone in the league.

i always wished that you could find advance schedules for who is refereeing the games because every time i walk into the arena and see violet palmer, i want to turn around and leave.

Palmer takes a lot of heat, probably because she is the only woman officiating right now in the NBA. A lot of it is unjust. She has improved. Doesn't react too well or fast enough in many situations but I can easily name 20 officials that are worse than Palmer.

The only good one.

Violet was comically bad when she came into the league. With a lot of hard work and practice, she is now just bad. Nobody goes for the flop more than Violet.
