Fort Funston 5

Hands down the best place in San Francisco to take your dog. Fort Funston is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and it's basically a big park up on bluffs that overlook the Pacific Ocean. There are trails all over that wind through the woods and down to the beach, where, on a nice day, there are always 10-20 off-leash dogs playing in the surf. Even if you don't have a dog, the views at this place are worth the trip.
