 | georges11 (16) 11/14/2007 | One of the best. Good arm, fair speed. He didn't make too many mistakes. He seemed to never let losing enter his mind. He always wanted to win even when it seemed impossible. And he usually did.

 | jgls (12) 09/27/2007 | very impressive player, but definitely a system quarterback. average quarterbacks like steve bono and jeff garcia thrived in the west coast offense. he was truly blessed to play for a great coach and an organization that continually drafted successfully.

 | Victor83 (35) 07/28/2007 | Kudos and thank you to CS for the review...When it comes to raw, physical talent and mechanics, I would stack Montana up against anyone in NFL history. Combine that with the intangibles- instincts, leadership, presence, and I would take Montana over anyone else on the list.

 | CanadaSucks (45) 07/28/2007 | Yes, Montana had some great offensive weapons. . .but Montana didn't have Rice or Taylor at Notre Dame or during his early years with the Niners when he was racking up numbers and wins. . .Montana even won a few games while playing on crutches in Kansas City. . .we're talking about a QB without a strong arm who was always a winner- a player who made his teammates better. . .did anyone have his stats during playoffs and Super Bowls? Montana makes my list of top-5 QB's I would start a franchise with for a simple reason- that's exactly what Bill Walsh did when he took over a horrible Niners team.

 | magellan (153) 07/27/2007 | This is not going to be a popular opinion, but I would argue that Joe Montana was a good QB who played in a GREAT system. The Bill Walsh system made stars out of just about anybody who played the QG position. Don't believe me? Just check out the stats of Montana successors Steve Young and Jeff Garcia.

 | louiethe20th (74) 07/27/2007 | Of all of the players on the list this guy would be my pick. What can be said about Joe that has not already been said. Knew how to lead his team, knew how to come through in the clutch and he knew how to win.
