In a lot of cases it's not out of ignorance that people stereotype. It's what's known as speaking before thinking. All a person has to do is use a little thing called common sense. It really isn't that hard.

Strangely, I find myself agreeing with you completely, Victor. Prejudice against white Southerners is especially bad because the prejudice is that they are all prejudiced, the ignorant assumption being that they are all ignorant -- a kind of racism to the second power, if you will.

  If you stereotype or generalize homosexuals here, you are in big trouble. The same with Muslims, despite the teachings of the Koran. Never DARE call a Democrat a "socialist", or you are generalizing in an ignorant and uneducated fashion. HOWEVER...

Throw out all the stereotypes and pejoratives you want to regarding white southerners- and, BY GOD, that is okay.

The hypocrisy of it is astounding.
