Everyone is prone to cherry-picking facts. The real problem starts when leaders are so blinded by an agenda that they can't see what is before their eyes.

(1) not at all a particular characteristic of any political stripe and (2) obviously, dubya-whores love facts that are cherry-picked more than Ted Kennedy loves whiskey because they clearly believe anything . . .why confuse those with truth when a good story keeps 'em happy?

By no means exclusive to the right, this is a tried and true tactic of politicians of all stripes.

I don't like this method, but I also can't deny that it occasionally works. But this definitely is not exclusive to the political right, cherry-picking facts appears to be a favorite of most politicians, regardless of political affiliation.

This used to be a flaw of the Democratic Party under the direction of technocrats like Robert McNamara. But now it's the right-wing flaw par excellence which has gotten us into Iraq. Eventually this tendency of theirs will have them spitting into the wind.
