Both left and right do this. Its simpler than rational debate.

The difference between right and left on this issue is what they view as constituting "good or bad character"

Which can be loosely defined as follows:

"Bad Character" is whatever the politician on the other side of the aisle got caught doing.

"Momentary lapse in judgement" is what your guy got caught doing.

Your character defines who you are. You can still make good business decisions but can you be trusted when it counts?

Thank you! Because "character" is one of those words slung around like hash. What does it mean, exactly? If I am correct, "character" refers to the kind of person you are - but politics is more about action and "what you do." In that sense, character is irrelevant.

Read any book on business, sports, leadership, management, sports, etc., and see if the recognized experts think character matters.

An infuriatingly successful strategy for winning the hearts of the people. If Clinton is diddling someone in the Oval Office, it must mean that his position on Somalia is also completely f*()@d.
