I have been noticing more complaints about excessive shoe wear and breakdown on the newer styles of MBT shoes, and have seen a retailer drop the line of MBT shoes because of the manufacturing changes following the exit of the inventor and subsequent company reorganization, bringing in people more familiar with discount retail, or so I've read. At over $200 per pair, I think I'll stay away from MBT shoes from now on. Decide for yourself.

I enjoyed my MBTs for about a month and then put on a pair of mid-high heels. OUCH! bad Achilles tendon pull - makes sense considering negative heel technology. Stopped wearing shoes immediately. About 2 weeks later developed sciatica - first back problem ever in many years of a very active life. These shoes are NOT for everyone. A physical therapist told me she has 3 patients(previously healthy) who have had serious problems with these shoes Be careful.
