Definitely could improve but attending concerts and just hanging down there in the area looking at the Delaware River is a good experience.

 | Lash21 (0) 03/26/2005 | Uggh. No city has done less with their waterfronts. Not much to see here. Good outdoor concerts, some nice restaurants (Chart House-Rock Lobster)-have dinner or drinks on an old British Schooner the Moshulu. But on the whole Penns Landing should be so much better.

 | Kley (0) 08/13/2003 | Penn's Landing is okay, but it should be a great deal better than that - at least the equivalent of Baltimore's Inner Harbor, which it isn't. Philadelphia has been having a hard time coming up with a defining concept for this place since the 1960s, and there is no overarching theme or structure to the area that is defined, for the present, by a massive freeway (I-95).

 | CanadaSucks (50) 06/30/2003 | Close to a subway stop, Penn's Landing is great for a daytime walk near the water. When the sun goes down, there is a great collection of bars and restraunts ranging from casual to trendy. Great place for a date! The Betsy Ross House and Ben Franklin's Post Office are nearby as well. . .

 | dalt533om (0) 10/31/1999 | Always improving! Summer concerts on the river are fabulous. Check out the U.S.S. Olympia and the U.S.S. Becuna. Or just sit in the shade of a tree and people watch.
