Overrated. He's competent, but not nearly as good as the press make him out to be. His good record is almost entirely down to his solid defensive line (Hyypia and Carragher being the consistent members of that back four), and when he is exposed he is decidedly shaky, and doesn't have the presence of a truly world-class keeper like Petr Cech.

He would be the Spanish national team golkeeper if Casillas (Real Madrid C.F.) wasn't there.
