He should be the first man to land on the sun.

When he orbited the Earth in 1961 John Glenn was rightfully a national hero. But after that courageous feat he got politically "in bed" with Lyndon Johnson and the Democrats and he hasn't been worth a damn since. His absolute nadir was when he scuttled the Senate hearings looking into Clinton's misbehavior -- all so he could go back into space for his quid pro quo (i.e. for Democrats, his payoff). From space race hero to national disgrace in one lifetime, just like Benedict Arnold.

When I was a child, he was one of my heroes. Then he went into politics and became a duplicitous, dishonorable politician. It's really sad.

He was the first American to orbit the moon in 1962.
