Tom Baker portrayed the 3rd regeneration of the Doctor. He was awesome and he was my favorite incarnation of the Doctor. We were fortunate that he starred in Doctor Who for seven years. He starred in 41 episodes. The next Doctor(Peter Davison) only starred as the Doctor for three years. He only starred in twenty episodes.Tom Baker would've had 42 episodes but the episode titled 'SHADA' was not completed.Tom Baker's Doctor was a bit weird at times. He once told a man to give him three minutes and he stuck up four fingers. Another weird thing he did was in the Leisure Hive. He said "Don't cross your bridges before they've hatched."Tom Baker and William Hartnell had more episodes than any of the other Doctors on the old show. Hartnell starred in 29 episodes. Baker had twelve more episodes than Hartnell.I gladly give Tom Baker's portrayal of the Doctor a 5 star rating. Jon Pertwee was my 2nd favorite Doctor.

Legendary. An extremely entertaining actor, and someone who did a fantastic job as Doctor Who. There will probably never be a better actor to play this role (at least, as long as the BBC keeps bringing in actors like Eccleston/Tennant and putting them in junk stories.)
Baker did a lot of yelling in some of the earlier episodes, but his character seemed to morph with time, through some fantastic stories (namely ones set on Gallifrey)
