They threw continuity out the window with this character.  After Sylvester McCoy faces a ridiculous demise, in comes Paul McGann, a pathetic Doctor.  Half-human?  An American Master? (although Eric Roberts was better than the newest yoyo to play the roll.)

Good thing McGann was a one-shot Doctor.
